Give Thanks

Grace

Unmerited favour.

Have you ever been the recipient of unmerited favour?  Someone showed you kindness when you didn’t really deserve it?

I feel like I have been on edge for months now.  Covid has taken stress to another level.  Less cash.  Less social time with friends.  More emotional eating.  More uncertainty.  More fear.  And in our case less tolerance.  I feel like in our home we have been less tolerant this year.  Yet we have spent some of the most quality time together ever.

What do you do when you speak before you think?  I never used to be that person.  Admittedly this year i have said things before i think.  I am quick to hand out an apology but I will tell you this year I learned about grace.  I needed more grace from my family and Ii am also learning to give more.

In the midst of this crazy pandemic year, we had a beautiful thanksgiving with our bubble.  And even a surprise visit from friends in the long ago past.  I am so very grateful that though life is hard, we have been given unmerited favour.

Sometimes when life is out of sorts and we are scrambling and everything is not as it could be, we give thanks for grace.  If nothing else, 2020 has taught us a new normal.  And 2020 has taught us that our world could use a lot more grace.
