BALI - PART 1 - SEMINYAK & NUSA ISLANDS

Day 50 – DEC 4 – KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA  TO  SEMINYAK, BALI - INDONESIA

Up early, took a long cab to airport – had breakfast.  Flew over to Denpasar, Bali.  Taxied to our villa.

Private villa, the same one Jorg stayed in when she traveled.  The lady remembered her and loved her, pretty cool.  This villa has 2 separate bedrooms, a kitchen and living room.  All separate rooms with a pool in the center.  Pretty cool setup.  Netting around the 4 post beds, it feels like Bali!

We walked up and down the streets, checking out the shops.  We stopped at a Japanese restaurant, sat on cushions on the floor beside the tables and had a great meal.

On our way home, just across from our street – we stopped for a Radler.  Up on stage come 2 ladyboy performers.  We are indeed in Indonesia.

Came home and jumped in the pool for a dip, love the feeling of getting my head in a cool pool after a hot day.

I had the worst night ever.  We went to sleep and to set the scene - the wall behind my  headboard was attached to another villa.  In that villa, travelers (because it was all English no accent) started a domestic dispute that lasted hours.  I was literally shaking in my bed – I was not sure if I was witnessing a homicide.  The screaming and swearing and moaning and wretching and furniture dragging and all the rest of it was terrifying.  We are on a quiet street at the very end of an alley, so I was too afraid to yell out to let them know people are hearing this.  Finally, just before 3am – I knocked on Tina’s door to ask if I can sleep in her bed, so I got some sleep after all.  UGH – brutal!!  I sure hope that girl is ok.  

DAY 51 – DEC 5 – SEMINYAK, BALI - INDONESIA

Got up early today, took a cab to Sanur, on the other side of the south tip of Bali… almost an hour drive.  From there we took a 30-minute speedboat to an island called Nusa Lembongon.  Immediately rented scooters and explored.

Took the infamous yellow bridge to Nusa Ceningan, an even smaller island.  Can you say PARADISE??  Wow, loved these islands so much.  The food was amazing and cheap.  Had the best time bombing around on 2 scooters.

We came home, changed and went walking – ended up at the most unreal sunset at the beach WOW.  Took some pics and went to eat at a Greek restaurant so yummy!!!

Home by 10, Tina went in, I went for a swim, felt so good!!

The villa next to me was silent and I went to sleep about midnight, yay!

DAY 52 – DEC 6 – SEMINYAK, BALI – INDONESIA

It was a rainy day so for me, great day to enjoy this totally amazing Bali villa.

Tina went out for the day, I stayed in - swam, worked from my 4-post netted bed with the rain outside – best ever!!  Got caught up.

Phone calls with both my kids.  Jorg with all her friends facetimed me – how amazing.    Had an hour-long call with my friend Lisa.

Tina came home and planned an adventure for us.  We jumped on 2 motorbikes and drove way back to Sanur, which she had not understood while hiring them.  They told her it was a free motorbike ride – which ended up costing us the most of any ride we took.  They told us we should eat a lobster dinner but found out it cost about $150 each, so instead we shared a seafood meal which was super delicious.  Took a few pics at the beach and motorbiked back.

She went for a massage, I shopped a bit and went home.  Back in the pool again . 4X today I skinny-dipped in our villa since I was alone in a concrete walled space.  Oh my – heaven!!
